Rob, you were an absolute inspiration to everyone who met you. You will be sorely missed, shine bright in heaven my friend

When we first met some 50 years ago in South Africa – jumping out of aircraft - I wondered if here could start a good friendship. It did, became very strong and beautiful and will now last forever. Mr. Hans misses Rob very sorely,

I had the absolute honour to care for Rob in his final months. He was such a caring, funny, incredibly intelligent man who faced his battles head on. He was so amazingly brave, so courageous. Everyone at the care home loved him and his lovely wife Julia who was incredibly devoted to him. Such an awesome couple. You loved and were loved by so many Rob. Your memory will live on in all of us. Julia, I wish for you peace and comfort. Your incredible love and devotion shone to Rob. His face always lit up when you were around. It was plain to see how much love he had for you. He will always live on in your heart xxx

Rob will be missed by so many people. He started out as a client at BZW in '93, and became a very good friend. I have very fond memories of my times with Rob. He was a true gentleman, with a very kind soul. We very nearly became neighbours at one time! Rest in peace Rob, my friend.

Very sad to hear of Rob's passing. Rob was a fellow hillwalker and very supportive manager when we worked together at Citi in Edinburgh from 2008. We did many walks in the Scottish highlands from multi Munro challenges with the hillwalking club to the 52 mile 24 hour Cateran Yomp in the Perthshire hills. Always enjoyed Rob's stories from his army days and he always made us laugh. Also remember a great stay at Rothiemurchus Lodge at the foot of the Cairngorms with the hillwalking team. We will miss you Rob R.I.P.
